Agile IT 2016 Year in Review

Cloud business solutions got a major facelift in 2016. Microsoft announced the release of Skype for Business (now Microsoft Teams) Cloud Connector in April, Dynamics 365 GA in November and thousands of more product enhancements and releases.

As a cloud managed services provider, Agile IT also experienced some major milestones this year. With the New Year upon us, we wanted to reflect on our favorite moments from 2016.

We Expanded Offices

Agile IT Location

We kicked off 2016 by moving to an awesome new office in Downtown San Diego. Equipped with voice services, a foosball table, treadmill desks and more, we’ve settled into our new home and even invited some customers in to celebrate.

We Helped Customers Overcome Cloud Challenges

Agile IT Helping Customers

2016 was huge for cloud technologies. With more solutions flooding the market and business adoption on the rise, we knew education and group learning would be critical.

To foster learning and community for our San Diego customers, we hosted a string of events, including a Customer Appreciation Happy Hour in April. We invited local customers, our Microsoft field team and the Microsoft Tech Bar for an evening of networking, learning and fun. We even gave away a Microsoft Surface Pro and other fun gifts to attendees.

In early November, we also hosted our first Cloud Trends Lunch for local businesses. We met at Donovan’s Steak House to discuss cloud challenges in small groups and learn from one IT professional to another.

Attendees also shared how moving to the cloud has helped them overcome business challenges. Having the chance to chat in-person with other local businesses helped our guests discover new ways to attack the ongoing challenges cloud adoption.

In fact, the event was so successful, our customers want more! And in 2017, we’re planning many more luncheons and break-out user group meetings at our offices to continue the conversation. If you’d like to join, let us know!

We Gave Back

Coming together as a team to help the less fortunate has become a yearly tradition. Volunteering gives our team a chance to rally around causes that matter to them. Taking the day off work to serve our community is always a great reminder of what’s important.

Agile IT Volunteering

This year, our team took a day to assemble homeless care packages around the holidays.

In the spirit of the holidays, our tech team (and some family members) also joined forces with the San Diego U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots. We spent the day sorting, counting and preparing toys for distribution. We’re excited to continue this tradition in 2017 and beyond!

We Revamped Our Website

Agile IT New Website

Have you checked out the Agile IT website recently? In 2016, we added (and upgraded) 12 new IT services pages — including managed cloud services, Office 365 migrations and Azure migrations.

We realized many companies were migrating to cloud business solutions like Office 365, but few knew how to effectively adapt these technologies to solve their business problems. We revamped the website to reflect our cloud focus and educate our audience on the phases of successful cloud implementation and adoption.

We Did a Team Photoshoot!

Agile IT Team

We love our co-workers and wanted to show off this talented group! So we invited our team — and even our canine friends — for photoshoots this year to document our amazing talent. Stay tuned for the Dogs of Agile IT page – coming soon!

We Bonded — Hard

Agile IT Team Bonding

More than anything, 2016 was a year of personal and professional growth for our team. We had a blast bowling, go karting, seeing “Rogue One – A Star Wars Story” and eating lunch together every Tuesday or 2016. The new foosball table and treadmill desks were also a huge hit!

Agile IT Team Bonding

Learning also took a front seat in 2016. We held an all-hands meeting at the Microsoft office to plan the future of our company and preview Dynamics 365 before its release. Many employees took advantage of their learning budget to continue their education and earn new certifications.

We Grew Our Team

The Agile IT family is a close-knit bunch. We were fortunate to add 6 amazing new employees to the team in 2016, gained a new CEO and partnered with new vendors like Amazon Web Services and Okta. If you haven’t already, meet Agile IT’s executive team here!

We Created Awesome Content

This year, our team rallied to publish 89 blog posts and 12 case studies. We set up an internal blogging program with our tech team to offer our audience actionable, technical advice.

Through 12 case studies, we also documented our success with Office 365 migrations, Azure migrations, hybrid office 365 migrations and Skype for Business Cloud PBX deployments for companies and nonprofits. Visit our case studies page to learn about all the awesome work we’ve done!

Of course, this list only scratches the surface of what our team accomplished this year. Overall, we spent 2016 collaborating to better serve customers, taking every opportunity to learn, experimenting with new technologies and growing as a team.

We’ve kicked off 2017 with a strategic focus on expanding our service offerings in 2017 and look forward to sharing those with you. Stay tuned!
